The land areas of India and Australia are very different from each other. Australia has total land area of 7.692 million km² making it the sixth largest country of the world. Meanwhile, India has total land area of 3.287 million km² and is seventh largest country in the world.


  • Economy :-
Both India and Australia lists themselves in the top 20 economies of the world. India is the sixth largest economy in the world with GDP of $9.45 trillion. Further, Australian economy ranks 13th with GDP of $1.24 trillion.


  • Religious Preference :-
India is a secular state where people practice different types of religion in India. The country is itself home to the birth of four religions namely - Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. India is also renowned to be one of the two ancient human civilization.
When considering Australia, 30% of Australians practices no religion and rest of the major population practices Christianity. Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism stays below 3 percent each.


  • Tourism :-
The country of Australia attracts around 7 million people annually. These are often inspired by adventure travel, beach parties and more. Both countries offers easy travel Visas.
Talking of India, more than 10 million foreign tourists arrived in India. Tourism in India contributes to 9.4% of its GDP. On the contrary, tourism in Australia contributes to 3% of its GDP. Most of the foreign tourists visits India to experience the cultural diversity, spirituality and religions and history of India.


  • Political :-
India is a proud democratic country and being renowned as world’s largest democracy. While Australia is a monarch and have two party system. India was also once a British colony which looted and broke the Indian economy, Since its Independence in 1947, the political system is constantly improving itself.

 

  • Defence:-
India shares its several boundaries with countries such as Pakistan, China, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Bhutan. To protect its boundaries from highly aggressive countries such as Pakistan and China, it spends more than $50 billion in its defence budget. 
While talking of Australia, it doesn’t majorly shares its boundaries with any country. The only country near to them is New Zealand which itself is a friendly nation to Australia. Thus Australia keeps it defence budget low at $36 billion.


 

  • Conclusion :-
These are some of the major differences between Australia and India. Australia is a developed and organized country while India is a developing country with strong projected growth. It has large population which will work as a major workforce contributing to the economy.
No country is ever perfect; it is made perfect. India was once looted and enslaved by the Britishers. Thus it will take time to grow up. Australia is over ruled in several things. All such rules cannot be implemented straight in India.
